There is only one boss

There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.
Sam Walton

I have been reading Sam Walton's autobiography recently and it is pretty fascinating. He was much more than a manager of a Wal-Mart. He was a visionary businessman and brought many of the practices that we consider essential to corporate America into existence.

Being Successful

“The trick (Key) to being successful is doing the things that unsuccessful people will not do.”

Carnegie Steel

I have changed the focus of this blog slightly. I had three blogs last week, and I combined two of those to form Carnegie Steel. Why you may ask would I pick the name Carnegie Steel, well, I happen to own the domain CarnegieSteel.com (it will be redirected shortly) and I am in the process of reading another Carnegie bio. While he may not have been perfect (only one man has ever been) he did have an astronomical rise in the world.

The purpose of this blog is to look at a number of different areas. While I am knowledgeable and passionate about business, the stock market, domain investing, general aviation, and life in general - I am not the most knowledgeable person in the field. Those distinctions are probably held by an old, grizzled aviator with an old Cessna and a grass strip in the Alaska wilderness, some finance professor at Texas A&M, or a crafty kid in the U.K. with a smoking computer and a case of Diet Coke.

While I may not be the most knowledgeable person with regards to every aspect of business, the stock market, domain investing, general aviation, and life in general, I am very resourceful and not afraid to knock on a few doors in an attempt to get the correct answer for you. Please feel free to send in your questions and comments and we’ll take an adventure together to get the answers.
